Speech Language and Communication Needs Strategies
An introduction to SLCN and supporting strategies in the learning environment. During the session delegates will become familiar with the difficulties associated with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and know how these impact on children’s learning inside and outside of the classroom.
Delegates will become aware of the terms associated with SLCN and know how to identify the different aspects of SLCN e.g. receptive, expressive and semantic pragmatic language needs. The course will highlight some general classroom strategies to help support children with SLCN including whole class approaches, intervention programmes and the use of multi-media so staff feel confident to meet the needs of children with SLCN in their settings.
